The School of Health, Safety and Training offers the nationally accredited Certificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety and Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment. The School offers a comprehensive mix of face to face teaching, online tutorial support, and simulated practical exercises. Where students are employed in a suitable position, the simulated practical exercise components are replaced with on-the-job training.
The courses are designed not only for those who wish to obtain a transferable qualification or for companies who wish to obtain formal qualifications for their health, safety and training staff but also for those wishing to further their careers in health, safety, training and management.
Students are able to specialize in coal mining or in general health and safety.
Staff members of the School of Health, Safety and Training have many years of industry experience and are themselves qualified trainers and assessors. The course also draws in experienced consultants such as legal practitioners for various components of the course - such as health and safety law.

The School of Drilling offers nationally accredited certificate II, certificate III, certificate IV and diploma level courses in underground in-seam directional drilling. The School of Drilling is the only provider of the qualifications in Australia and the only provider drilling training provider which offers a comprehensive mix of face to face teaching, online tutorial support, and on-the-job training.
The four courses and qualifications offered by the School of Drilling correspond to accepted levels of seniority in the industry and reflect the amendments to the Queensland Petroleum and Gas (Production and Safety) Regulation 2004 - which comes into effect on 1 January 2009. The School of Conveyor Maintenance was established as a result of an industry partnership between the Australian College of Mining and Pittop Conveyor Products Pty Limited, Tyton Conveyors Pty Limited, and Austbelt Conveyors.
The School presently offers the nationally accredited Certificate III in Polymer Processing (Belt Splicing) and was one of the first registered training organisations to have such a qualification on its scope.
The School of Conveyor Maintenance Certificate III in Polymer Processing (Belt Splicing) is provided by a comprehensive mix of face to face teaching, online tutorial support, and on-the-job training. Students successfully completing the Certificate III will have a particular focus in mining and will be competent (subject to inductions) to supervise belt-splicing operations on mine sites.
In addition to the qualification in Polymer Processing (Belt Splicing), the School of Conveyor Maintenance anticipates being in a position to offer a Certificate III in Polymer Processing (Polyurethane Manufacture), a Certificate III in Underground Coal Operations (Conveyor Installation), a Certificate III in Surface Coal Operations (Conveyor Installation), and a Certificate III in Surface Coal Operations (Conveyor Maintenance) by March 2009.
