The School of Health, Safety and Training offers the nationally accredited Certificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety and Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment. The School offers a comprehensive mix of face to face teaching, online tutorial support, and simulated practical exercises. Where students are employed in a suitable position, the simulated practical exercise components are replaced with on-the-job training.
The courses are designed not only for those who wish to obtain a transferable qualification or for companies who wish to obtain formal qualifications for their health, safety and training staff but also for those wishing to further their careers in health, safety, training and management.
Students are able to specialize in coal mining or in general health and safety.
Staff members of the School of Health, Safety and Training have many years of industry experience and are themselves qualified trainers and assessors. The course also draws in experienced consultants such as legal practitioners for various components of the course - such as health and safety law.
Further information about each of the School of Drilling's courses (including nominal teaching hours, individual course competencies, delivery modes, and teaching fees) can be found in the course overviews downloadable above.
